This home had all the foundational elements VMA looks for—an open layout, vaulted ceilings, and natural light. But despite those strengths, the space felt visually heavy and disjointed. Deep reddish-purple accent walls broke up the flow, while the darker flooring and mismatched finishes created a sense of imbalance.

The lighting and layout lacked cohesion, and the kitchen area didn’t fully connect with the living space. Overall, it was a room with great potential—but without a clear design direction.

The VMA Approach: Intentional, Cohesive, Elevated

VMA Design Build approached this renovation with a focus on clarity, warmth, and flow. The goal was to create a space that felt unified and modern, while still being comfortable and inviting.

A soft, neutral color palette was introduced to instantly brighten and expand the room. Walls were simplified, allowing the architecture to shine and creating a calm, cohesive backdrop for the entire space.

The flooring was updated to a lighter wood tone, a signature VMA move that enhances continuity and brings warmth without overwhelming the design. This single change helped tie together the kitchen, dining, and living areas seamlessly.

The After: Thoughtfully Designed Living

The re-imagined space now tells a completely different story.

A dedicated dining area anchors the room, featuring a beautifully crafted wood table surrounded by textured, upholstered seating—an intentional blend of comfort and sophistication. Adjacent to it, the kitchen has been streamlined with clean-lined cabinetry and modern finishes, creating a functional yet visually understated focal point.

In the living area, VMA incorporated layered textures, natural materials, and curated décor to bring depth and personality. The furniture layout defines each zone while maintaining an open, airy flow—perfect for both entertaining and everyday living.
